Toni Michelle Braxton was born in October of 1967 in Severn, Maryland to parents Michael Conrad Sr. and Evelyn Jackson. Her father was a Methodist clergyman and power company worker, while her mother was a former opera singer, cosmetologist, and pastor.

Meanwhile, Braxton has five younger siblings in total. One brother, Michael Jr. (born 1968) and sisters Traci (1971 – 2022), Towanda (born 1973), Trina (born 1974), and Tamar (born 1977).

As far as education goes, Braxton graduated from Glen Burnie High School, before enrolling at Bowie State University to earn a teaching degree. Yet, she went to become a singer instead.

In 2001, Braxton married musician Keri Lewis and had her first child named Denim Cole. Then, they had a second son named Diezel Ky in 2003 ten years before divorcing in 2013.

In 2016, the singer started dating record executive Birdman. After two years, the couple announced their engagement, but it’s since been called off. Yet, they are still together.

Sadly, Braxton has had her fair share of medical issues in recent years. In 2008, she was diagnosed with microvascular angina (small vessel disease). Then, she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in 2010.
