Haralabos Voulgaris was born on July 4, 1975, in the United States. Not much is known about his early life, parents, and education. He was 18 years of age when he took a year gap between high school and college. Voulgaris then traveled to Greece where he visited the hardscrabble villages, of Argos, and Tripoli. His parents were actually born and raised in a Greece village.
Haralabos’ parents immigrated to Canada in their 20s. Along with his father, he went on a trip to Las Vegas and spent two months at Caesars Palace. His father later became a successful Winnipeg entrepreneur. Likewise, his dad owned and operated a Greek restaurant, Hermes, and developed commercial real estate. His father later became an avid gambler and started betting on horses and sports of all kinds including card games, penny stocks, and dice games.

Voulgaris started losing big after he lost a third of his bankroll in the last month of the 2003-03 season alone.
Haralabos is also a poker enthusiast who was cashed for more than $3 million in live poker tournaments. He had won a huge sum over the course of playing in 19 different events in 14 years. He got his biggest win in September 2007 finishing third in the $10K NLHE Championship event which took place at the WPT Borgata Open for $434,560. Similarly, he finished in fourth place in the 2017 WSOP One Drop event. While finished in fourth place he pocketed $1,158,883. Voulgaris became the Director of Quantitative Research and Development of the professional basketball team, the Dallas Mavericks in October 2018. He bought the soccer club after a year he left his role at the Dallas Mavericks. The soccer club plays in Spain’s third division called Primera Division RFEF. In 2015, he mentioned that he owed millions of dollars to a former NVG superhero who agreed to place bets for him with an unknown bookmaker. The identity of the superhero poker player was revealed as Tom Dwan. In October 2022, he acknowledged the multi-million dollar debt on Joe Ingram’s podcast and confirmed that Tom has repaid all his money.
