Sada became a prominent figure of Detroit’s rap scene by the mid to late 2010s. In his career, he’s released seven mixtapes, one studio album, along with featuring on dozens of other artists’ tracks.

The rapper has been signed to a few labels throughout his career, but he’s currently with Asylum Records. Right now, Saba receives 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Meanwhile, his hit song Whole Lotta Choppas has garnered over 43 million streams on Spotify alone.

Early Life

Sada Baby was born on November 17, 1992, in Detroit, Michigan to reportedly loving parents whose names are not public. Unfortunately, Saba’s father passed away in 2021.

It appears as though Sada is not an only child and he’s expressed his closeness with his cousins. As a youth, he had dreams of playing professional basketball.

The rapper was born in Detroit and was raised on the east side of the city, which is home to the country’s biggest market called the Eastern Market. From ages nine to 11, Sada moved to Washington, D.C. to live with his dad’s side of the family.

It’s not known what high school Sada attended, but he played for the basketball team before going to jail his senior year. Then, he attended Schoolcraft College in its culinary program. He wanted to walk onto the basketball team, but he realized his big break in rap before that could occur.

Sada has revealed that he sang in the church choir as a young boy in Detroit. He credits his cousin Ashley as the one who really inspired him to begin taking signing/rapping seriously.

Rap Career

Before walking onto the college basketball squad, Sada entered a 12 person rap competition called Imported From The D. He beat out the other contestants and started rapping full time shortly after.

The year after, Sada released his breakthrough debut mixtape entitled Skuba Sada. The project contained 18 tracks and came in at just under an hour of runtime. That same year, he signed with Tee Grizzley’s Grizzley Gang label. One more mixtape in 2017 called D.O.N – Dat One Nigga would prepare Sada for a big 2018.

Sada Baby’s 2019 tape Bartier Bounty featured singles like Bloxk Party, Cheat Code, and Driple Double. He continued his momentum with his fourth mixtape titled Whoop Tape. It would be his final project under Grizzley’s label.

In preparation for his debut studio album, Sada released his mixtape Brolik as well as his hit single Pressin featuring King Von. His debut would be a follow-up to his prior work Skuba Sada and it’d peak at number 125 on the Billboard 200 chart. Remarkably, Sada dropped another mixtape (Bartier Bounty 2) just one week after his debut LP.

In August of 2020, Sada hit it big with his track Whole Lotta Choppas. The track debuted at number 92 on the Hot 100 chart, but more importantly, it sparked a viral dance on TikTok.

Also, pop star Nicki Minaj remixed the track which would peak at number 35 on the Hot 100. Sada’s first true hit sampled Tag Team’s 1993 single Whoomp! (There It Is). It’s considered a dance-heavy track and it was chosen as an anthem during the 2020 NBA Finals.

At present, the rapper has given zero insight into his personal life as pertaining to his dating history. It’s believed that the 29-year-old is not a father as of yet.

Sada is of mixed ethnicity. Believe it or not, he actually is part British. Moreover, the rapper has dark eyes and he likes to dye his hair in different colors. We also know that he has a younger brother by the name of Chico.
