Rowdy Rebel was born Chad Marshall in Brooklyn, New York to his father Larry Marshall and his mother whose name is not public. The rapper has a brother named Remy also. Rowdy is of African-American ethnicity, but he has Jamaican and Bajan ancestry.

As of 2022, his educational background is unknown as he hasn’t relayed any details. He grew up in the East Flatbush area of Brooklyn, in a neighborhood known as “the 90s”.

The rapper plead not guilty to charges such as conspiracy, attempted murder, attempted assault, and a few others. Instead, he took a deal in which he plead guilty in exchange for a six to seven-year sentence.

Rowdy’s payroll hearing in August of 2020 went his way and he was released in December of 2020. All in all, he served six years in prison.

Currently, Rowdy receives a respectable 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Meanwhile, his YouTube channel possesses 199,000 subscribers to go along with 1.0 million followers on his Instagram page.

Rowdy’s most successful track thus far is undoubtedly his song Computers, which was released in 2014. The single featured fellow GS9 member Bobby Shmurda and the music video has just under 66 million hits on YouTube as of 2021.

Computers appeared on GS9’s first collaborative effort entitled Shmoney Shmurda (Shmixtape) and it’s since been certified as Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song played a big part in bringing a spotlight to the group.

The rapper has been posting videos of him working on new music in the studio, performing on stage with NAV, and him flexing with his riches.

Rowdy Rebel GS9

The GS9 collective includes rappers like Rowdy, Bobby Shmurda, Fetty Luciano, and Corey Finesse. The acronym stands for either Gun Squad or G Stone Crips and the gang has been known to get into squabbles with other local regiments.

In 2014, 15 members of GS9 were indicted on federal charges. Additionally, member Santino Boderick was sentenced to 117 years. While another member was sentenced to 53 and a half years.
