Leah Marie Remini was born in June 1970 in the New York City borough of Brooklyn to parents George and Vicki Marshall. Her father owned an asbestos removal company while raising the family in Bensonhurst.
Originally, Remini was baptized Roman Catholic and raised as such. However, her mother joined the Church of Scientology which resulted in Leah converting to Scientology.
