Early life

Taylor Zakhar Perez was born on the 25th of December, 1991 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He spent his childhood days growing up in Indiana with seven siblings. Perez has five sisters and two brothers. His parents owned body shops across Chicago.

Regarding his education detail, he has studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. He came out holding a Bachelor’s degree with majoring in Spanish and History from the University. While studying at high school, he was a competitive swimmer.

Career

As he grew up, he became more interested in acting. He started his acting career by performing in various opera houses. Taylor has mainly performed at the musical theatre in the early days. Later, he moved to Los Angeles with a dream of becoming a big movie and TV star. He got his first role on Nickelodeon’s ‘iCarly”, where he appeared as Keith, Carly’s date. In the series, he appeared briefly on episode 8 titled “iGet Banned”.

Then he went on to appear in the TV sitcom “Young & Hungry”, where he appeared for an episode as Benji Rodriguez. Perez then starred in some other projects where he appeared in a small role. He has made an appearance in NBC/Sony’s drama pilot “Cruel Intentions”. Then he appeared on some other TV series such as “Code Black”, “12 Deadly Days”, and “Scandal”.

Taylor got his breakthrough role in 2020 when he was finalized for the role of Marco Pena in Netflix’s teen romantic comedy movie “The Kissing Booth 2”. He became an overnight star after the movie was released on July 24, 2020. However, the movie received negative reviews from critics. The third installment of the movie “The Kissing Booth 3” was released on August 11, 2021.

Perez would be appearing in HBO’s new series “Minx” after working in the Kissing Booth Franchise movie series. He would be working alongside actor, Jake Johnson in the HBO series.
