Raymond Albert Romano was born in December of 1957 in the New York City borough of Queens to parents Albert and Luciana “Lucie” (née Fortini). His father was a real estate agent and engineer, while his mother worked as a piano teacher.
Ray’s older brother, Richard, is a sergeant with the NYPD, and his younger brother, Robert, is a second-grade teacher in the city. Meanwhile, they are all of Italian descent.
