Marcus Anthony Lemonis was born in November of 1973 in Beirut, Lebanon to parents Abdallel (from Lebanon) and Nadia (from Baniyas, Syria). Wildly, Marcus was originally given the name Ricardo, but he was abandoned at an orphanage four days after being born.

Then, Marcus was adopted as an infant by Miami, Florida natives Leo and Sophia Lemonis.

Lemonis graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1991. He would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in criminology, from Marquette University.

Throughout his youth and adolescence, Marcus was exposed to the automotive industry through his great uncle who owned two of the America’s biggest Chevrolet dealerships.

After failing twice to win a seat in the Florida House of Representatives, Lemonis returned to the car industry. Family friend, Lee Iacocca, helped Lemonis start and acquire Holiday RV Superstores. Lemonis served as CEO of the company from 2001 to 2003.

Afterward, he co-founded a company by the name of FreedomRoads and began acquiring RV dealerships. In 2006, the company merged with Camping World, of which he became CEO.

They would merge again, this time with Good Sam Enterprises, keeping Lemonis at the helm.

While leading the charge at Camping World, Lemonis sponsored NASCAR driver John Andretti and got the company to take over sponsorship of the NASCAR East Series from Busch Beer.

After taking Camping World public on the NYSE in 2016, the stock price has nearly doubled, hovering around $40 per share. Nowadays, the company is worth around $2 billion.

Since 2013, Lemonis has served as the star of the CNBC show called The Profit. He also starred in and co-produced The Partner on the same network. His other television appearances came on Celebrity Apprentice, Secret Millionaire, and Let’s Make a Deal.

Lastly, Lemonis has done tens of millions of dollars worth of philanthropic work recently.
