Early Life and Amateur Career
Daniel Berger was born on April 7, 1993, in Plantation, Florida to parents Nadia and Jay Berger. His father is a former tennis coach and head of men’s tennis for the United States Tennis Association.
Berger began playing golf when he was just 11 years old. He went to William T. Dwyer High School and then played collegiate golf at Florida State University. During his time at the college, he won the SunTrust Gator Invitational and the Seminole Intercollegiate.
As an amateur, Berger was named a two-time first-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America. He was also named to the All-Nicklaus team, All-ACC team, and PING All-Region team.

Berger turned pro in 2013 when he was just 20 years old. That year, he qualified for the Webb.com Tour and played four events. A year later, he finished T2 at the TPC Stonebrae Championship and finished 15th in the Web.com Tour standings. With that finish, he received an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour for the 2014-15 season.
In March 2015 at the Honda Classic, Berger shot a 6-under-par 64 in the final round to get into a sudden-death playoff, which he lost to Padraig Harrington. In the 2015 season, he had six top-10 finishes, ranked 11th in the FedEx Cup rankings, and got the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.
His first PGA Tour win came in June 2016 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. With that win, he earned $1.1 million and moved to 29th in the Official World Golf Ranking. At the 2018 U.S. Open, Berger shot a third-round 66, putting him a4-way tie for the lead with Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Tony Finau. However, he tied for 6th place behind winner Koepka.
On June 13, 2020, Berger won the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge and won a check of $1.375 million. With that win, he moved to number 31 in the world rankings.
