Lovely Mimi was born on 20th August 1990 in Vietnam. She had a difficult childhood as she spent most of her childhood in a refugee camp. Her parents escaped from the camp and moved to the US and lived in Silver Springs.

Her father worked as a pastor in Vietnam but passed away in 2014. She has six siblings, five sisters and a brother. Her eldest sister lives in Vietnam and they have only met once in her lifetime.
