Early life

Gabriella Butler was born on January 16, 1998, in Boca Raton, Florida to parents, John and Debbie. She grew up with three siblings; a brother, John Michael, and two sisters, Ashley and Amanda. Gabi has stayed a lot of time living with her host family in Ventura, California. She was then training with her World Champion Team. She is currently studying at Weber State University.

Gabi was just eight years old when she started doing competitive cheerleading. From an early age, she was gifted with flexibility and talent in flying. In 2012, she made a regular appearance on Awesomeness TV’s YouTube series “Cheerleaders”. At that time, she was performing on the California All-Stars team named Smoed. She appeared in the series for a couple of seasons until 2014. After that, she made an occasional appearance for a few episodes in the later seasons. 

Along with the California All-Stars team, Smoed, Gabi has held the cheerleading world championships twice in the year 2013 and 2014. Gabi was known to people when she appeared on the first season of Netflix’s docuseries “Cheer”. Through the series, the viewers got to witness the inside look at the Navarro College cheer team, which includes the members like Gabi Butler and Morgan Simianer. The viewers loved watching the personalities of athletes and the bond between the teammates. 

The second season of Netflix’s docuseries started premiering on Netflix on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Although the teammates share a close bond, they are competitors in the end. Gabi has said that “as a cheerleader.. as an athlete, you’re going to be competitive. When you have a spot, and it’s right there, you are going to do anything and everything you can in your power to get that spot.

Butler has been a part of the Navarro team, and she feels that Navarro is a friendly competitive group and it’s pushing each other type thing. Gabi further revealed that even though there is a rivalry, it has been mostly been real both on and off-camera. Gabi’s presence in the Netflix series has made her an overnight star, though, she had already appeared on other series before. Other than that, she also runs a YouTube channel through which she shares a behind-the-scenes look into her life as a cheerleader.

Gabi Butler is currently dating a boyfriend named Jordan Brooks-Wess, who is playing as a wide receiver for the Abilene Christian. Her alleged boyfriend, Jordan has made an appearance in six games in 2020 and caught six passes for 40 yards with 5 carries for 32 yards. Gabi has also been very popular on Instagram, where she currently has 1.9 million followers.
