Alpo Martinez was born Alberto Geddis Martinez on the 8th of June, 1966 in East Harlem, New York, United States. He was raised by a single mother along with his one sibling. For his study, he joined the Roman Catholic School.
Then, he studied at Automotive Mechanical High School for some time before joining Julia Richmond High School. However, he didn’t continue his education further as he dropped out during his sophomore year.

Alpo, at the young age of 13 started selling drugs in East Harlem. He expanded his drug dealing circle when he met the West Side Harlem drug dealer, Azie Faison. After he got along with the chain of drug dealers, he became one of the biggest drug dealers in East Harlem. Alpo later expanded his operations in Washington, D. C. At that time, he was actively involved in the city’s underworld and went further ahead in his drug activities.
As he was climbing further steps in the underworld, he eventually happened to meet a notorious gangster, Silk Perry, who was later hired as his hitman and bodyguard. In July 1990, he was indicted on federal drug charges along with other two men. However, the indictment was later dismissed when he quickly disappeared before the trial in November 1991.
Alpo was arrested in Washington, D. C. in November 1991 for selling drugs. He was arrested on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder, 14 counts of murder, and other various drug charges. Martinez was also involved in the murder of drug dealers, Michael Anthony Salters and Demencio Benson. Though, he turned informant and was testified against any other members of his organization to avoid the possibility of the death penalty and life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
Later on, a verdict was given against his criminal activities where he was sentenced to 35 years in prison. After spending 35 years in a WITSEC FCI federal prison, he was released in 2015. As per the reports, he was awaiting a new identity in the federal witness protection program.

According to NYPD officials, he was shot on the left side of his chest, on his chin, and three bullets went inside his left arm. After he was shot on W. 152nd St five times, his red 2017 Dodge Ram crashed into the back of another vehicle. The investigation is still going on the motive for the shooting, though, the officials have not found any suspects yet.
