Isaiah Rashad was born on the 16th of May, 1991 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. He was three years old when his father left him and his mother. Rashad was brought by his mother, who used to work as a hairdresser. He had earlier decided that he would become a preacher. However, his mindset diverted in music after his stepbrother lent him a copy of the popular hip hop duo’s studio album “ATLiens”.
Isaiah was studying in school when he listened to the songs of OutKast’s album “ATLiens”. After that, he started spending his days rapping regularly. He started taking rapping seriously when he was studying in 10th grade. Rashad even rapped on the stage using the name Zay Taylor. After he finished high school, he attended Middle Tennessee State University.
