Carson Jones Daly was born in June of 1973 in Santa Monica, California to parents Jim “J.D.” and Pattie Daly Caruso. His father was a car salesman while his mother worked as a TV personality in Coachella Valley.

Furthermore, his dad passed away from bladder cancer when Carson was a child. Afterward, his mom married a man named Richard Caruso.

As far as education goes, Daly attended Santa Monica High School where he was a member of the school’s golf team all four years. Then, he enrolled at Loyola Marymount University in LA, but he dropped out to pursue a professional golf career.

After golf didn’t pan out, Daly served as an intern to Jimmy Kimmel on the radio. Eventually, he began his broadcasting career at the radio station KOME in San Jose, CA.

In 1997, MTV hired Daly to be a permanent VJ, which forced him to relocate to New York. Shortly thereafter, he began hosting MTV Live. Daly then hosted the network’s TRL from 1998 to 2003 before he moved to NBC.

Once at NBC, Daly started hosting New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, which he has done now for many years. During this time, he had a syndicated daily radio show, Most Requested also.

In 2011, Daly began hosting and executive-producing NBC’s hit reality music competition, The Voice. Impressively, he won four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.

Originally, Daly was engaged to actress Tara Reid for a year after meeting on the set of Total Request Live. Then, the host got engaged to and eventually married food blogger Siri Pinter.

Together, the couple has four children: Jackson, Goldie, London, and Etta. Meanwhile, the family currently resides in the Village of Flower Hill, in NY. Notably, Siri’s father is actor Mark Pinter.

Daly has long been open about his struggles dealing with his generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks.
