Early Life
Jack Antonoff was born on March 31, 1984, in Bergenfield, New Jersey. He was born to Rick and Shira (Wall) Antonoff. Antonoff grew up with three siblings including an elder brother, Rachel Antonoff, who is a fashion designer. Jack studied at the Solomon Schechter Day School. Then, he attended the Professional Children’s School.
In November 1998, he and his friends from elementary school formed a punk rock band, Outline. In January 2000, the rock band released their self-titled EP. At an earlier stage, he sang in the group until Eddie Wright took over on vocals in early 2000. In 2002, he formed the band, Steel Train along with his friend, Scott Irby-Rainier. Then, they included a drummer, Matthias Gruber in their band. Soon, two members of the band, Random Task, Matthew Goldman and Evan Winiker joined their brand.

Antonoff was joined by Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost in 2008. Along with new band members, Steel Train released their debut album, Aim and Ignite. They subsequently released their second album, Some Nights in 2012. The album includes their first number-one hit song, We Are young. In February 2014, Jack announced a solo project, Bleachers. In June 2017, he released Bleacher’s second album, Gone Now.
Afterward, Antonoff wrote and produced a song titled Sweeter than Fiction with Taylor Swift for the 2013 movie, One Chance.
